In just 2 weeks, we have already received multiple testimonies from coaches, athletes, and parents from around the country, and have surpassed 100 signatures — an important early milestone that shows this issue resonates far beyond one gym, one province, or one community. A milestone only 1 out of every 8 Change petitions will accomplish.
This campaign is about accountability, transparency, and the future of Canadian boxing. For too long, serious concerns surrounding systemic negligence, governance failures, maltreatment, and the lack of meaningful federal oversight in Canadian amateur boxing have been allowed to fester. Protected in the dark, with little to no accountability, these issues have persisted while insiders and institutions avoided scrutiny. Reaching this milestone confirms that athletes, coaches, families, and tax-paying citizens across the country have had enough, and believe these matters must finally be brought to light and examined openly and independently.
This is still the beginning. The target is 500 or more signatures in order to reach the threshold of a federal House of Commons e-petition, and to push for true federal oversight. Every name strengthens the call for a National Inquiry that investigates and restores trust in publicly funded sport.
If you have already signed, thank you. Please consider sharing the petition so others who care about integrity in sport can add their voice. Real change begins when enough people refuse to stay silent.
Together, we are building the momentum needed to ensure a trustworthy, fair, and more prosperous future for Canadian amateur boxing.
