The government shutdown has now dragged on for over 30 days, putting more than 750,000 federal workers in financial crisis, halting critical programs like WIC and SNAP, and threatening the stability of our economy.

This is not sustainable. And it is not acceptable.

While President Trump calls for scrapping the filibuster to break the stalemate, Senate Republicans hold the power right now to act—and they must.

End this shutdown immediately, with or without a rules change
Bring forward or support a clean funding bill that reopens the government now, not weeks from now
Stop playing political games with working families’ lives

Whether or not you agree with President Trump’s push to eliminate the filibuster, it is clear that Senate Republicans have the votes, the tools, and the responsibility to bring this shutdown to an end. Every day they delay is another day families go without paychecks, food assistance runs dry, and vital government services remain frozen.

The Congressional Budget Office now estimates this shutdown could cost the U.S. economy up to $14 billion. Millions of people are paying the price for a political fight they did not start.
