Call on Major Foundations to Fund Jane Goodall’s Animal Protection Legacy

Call on Major Foundations to Fund Jane Goodall’s Animal Protection Legacy
The Issue
Jane Goodall showed the world that animals feel, think, and deserve our respect. Her work with chimpanzees changed science forever. But more than that, she helped people see animals as individuals worth fighting for.
Now, after her passing, we have a chance to honor that legacy in a powerful way.
Jane created Roots & Shoots, a youth program that helps young people protect animals and the environment in their own communities. Around the world, kids and teens are building wildlife habitats, rescuing injured animals, and speaking up for creatures who can’t speak for themselves, all because of Jane’s vision.
But they can’t do it alone.
We’re calling on major foundations — like the Gates Foundation, the Packard Foundation, and the Bezos Earth Fund — to match public donations to Roots & Shoots programs that protect animals. This would double the impact of every gift, allowing more young people to start wildlife-saving projects in their neighborhoods, parks, and schools.
Jane believed that hope lies with the next generation. By helping young people protect animals, we keep her work alive.
Let’s make sure her mission doesn’t end here. Let’s help it grow.
