Tennessee's total abortion ban will be in effect come mid-August.

This ban does not include exceptions for victims of rape or incest. 

Strict abortion laws will be enforced. One being the prosecution of anyone who performs an abortion in Tennessee. That person could be convicted of a Class C Felony and face 15 years in prison. 

Laws prohibiting abortion pills being sent to a Tennessee resident are also  included. 

Additionally, law makers are proposing restrictions on even the spread of information, to TN residents, about abortion access in other states -  their reason: they believe information could "coerce" a woman into an abortion. 

Tennessee Senators, Marsha Blackburn and Bill Hagerty, recently voted against a bill that would protect TN women from prosecution if they were to travel out of state for abortion care. 

This puts every woman and little girl living in Tennessee at extreme risk. 

The Tennessee General Assembly holds the power to retract this total abortion ban. They have the power to revise their restrictions. These elected politicians have a responsibility to the people. And now more than ever, they must hear from us. 

Republican politicians need to know that not all Republicans agree with these decisions and they need to know it now.

If we do not take action, poverty will rise, domestic violence will worsen, the number of children in state's custody will increase, a person raped will be forced to continue their pregnancy, a 10 year old would be forced to continue a pregnancy, miscarriages could be investigated, access to certain birth control will be limited or banned, and much more. We will see tragically detrimental results from this ban. 

We have a lot to lose. 

If the abortion ban is stopped and the "Heartbeat Law" stricken women will be able to make their own decisions about continuing a pregnancy up until the point of viability outside the womb. Which is how it was prior to Roe v. Wade being overturned.
