The Issue

Update March 13, 2019: In light of the terrible crash in Ethiopia, President Trump has declared the grounding of all 737 Max jets in the US! 42 other countries have already grounded their Max 8 Jets!

Still, we need Boeing to take some responsibility for the lives they've taken so irresponsibly!

In October, a Lion Air flight crashed in Indonesia minutes after taking off. All 189 people on board were killed. The regional airline had prided themselves on being one of the first in Asia to have the latest Boeing airplane, the 737 MAX 8. It turns out a safety feature on the plane likely malfunctioned, causing the plane to dive towards the sea. Since 2017, these new planes have been replacing old Boeing 737s across the globe.

This deadly accident could have happened anywhere. Demand Boeing recall their 737 MAX 8 planes and fix this deadly flaw.

Investigators now suspect that an anti-stall emergency feature malfunctioned and forced the plane down. This feature is automatically kicked in to level the plane’s nose, but instead it forced the plane to crash. American Airlines even called out Boeing for having non-existent and erroneous information on these emergency systems. Since the Lion Air crash, Boeing has released some maintenance fixes that could deal with this issue. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has urged all airlines in the U.S. to follow suit. Airlines and passengers need more reassurance that these planes are safe. Call on Boeing to recall these planes and fix this deadly issue.

Boeing’s new MAX 8 is their most popular airplane, with 219 globally in service and an additional 4,500 on order. In the U.S., Southwest uses 26 Max 8s, American Airlines flies 8 of them - with many more on order. International carriers who fly to the U.S. also use the MAX 8.

As more and more airlines buy these planes to replace old 737s and expand their fleets, more lives could be put into jeopardy. It’s clear this deadly accident could have happened anywhere. Tell Boeing to do more than release some maintenance fixes, recall this plane and fix this fatal flaw on all 737 MAX 8 planes.
