We, the undersigned residents of Marlborough and Ulster County, submit this petition to call for the resignation of Thomas Corcoran from the positions of Ulster Legislator, Varsity Football Coach, Building Inspector and Code Enforcement Officer.

On Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, Ulster Legislator Joseph Maloney filed a request for a formal investigation into the corruption and alleged embezzlement in the Town of Marlborough. Coverage of the investigation can be found below.

These allegations of corruption, embezzlement, misuse of nonprofit funds, acceptance of improper gifts, and the weaponization of law enforcement have deeply shaken our community’s trust. While investigations are ongoing, the severity of these allegations has already damaged public confidence in our local government.

Public service requires transparency, accountability, and the trust of the people. These allegations, whether proven in full or still under review, represent a profound breach of that trust. They have become, and will continue to be, a major distraction from the real needs of our community — from youth programs to business development to the safety and well-being of our residents.

Therefore, we respectfully request the following:

That Legislator Thomas Corcoran immediately resign from his position in order to preserve the integrity of the Ulster County Legislature and allow our community to move forward without further distraction.

That the Town Board and Town Supervisor reaffirm their commitment to transparency and accountability and demand Mr. T. Corcoran's immediate resignation, ensuring that trust is restored, and governance is conducted without the shadow of scandal.

That the Marlboro Central School District Board of Education suspend Thomas Corcoran of his duties as Varsity Football Coach. These allegations are serious and many of the student players were involved in the organization where much of the theft is alleged to have taken place.

Below referenced are the reports of these allegations. The people of Marlborough deserve leaders who act with honesty, fairness, and respect for the public trust. For these reasons, we believe resignation is the most honorable and necessary course of action.
