As Americans, we believe in freedom, justice, and the protection of human rights. These values define our identity, our foreign policy, and the moral leadership we claim on the world stage. Today, we call upon our government to live up to those principles by reevaluating its relationship with the State of Israel and dismantling the outsized influence that AIPAC holds over our political system.

 

For decades, Palestinians have endured severe hardships under Israeli military occupation, including repeated large-scale military operations that have caused immense civilian suffering. International human rights organizations, UN bodies, and global humanitarian observers have documented patterns of actions by the Israeli government (such as indiscriminate bombardments, collective punishment, forced displacement, and blockades) that raise serious concerns under international law and have been widely condemned by the international community.

 

Despite this, the United States has continued to provide unconditional political, military, and financial support; support that enables these actions to continue without accountability.

 

At the same time, AIPAC has become one of the most powerful lobbying forces in Washington, spending extraordinary amounts of money to influence elections and pressure elected officials. Through massive political donations and targeted campaigns, AIPAC has shaped U.S. policy in ways that do not always reflect the will, interests, or values of the American people. No foreign-aligned lobbying organization, no matter which country it represents, should wield that level of control in our democracy.

 

This petition is not about hatred. It is not about division. It is about protecting American democracy, upholding human rights, and ensuring that our foreign policy reflects the values we claim to stand for.

 

We, the undersigned, call on our government to:

 1. Cut all unconditional military and financial support to Israel until full compliance with international law is demonstrated.

 2. Reevaluate the U.S.-Israel relationship in light of ongoing human rights violations against Palestinians.

 3. Dismantle the undue influence of AIPAC and ensure that no foreign-affiliated lobbying group can overpower the voice of American citizens.

 4. Uphold America’s commitment to justice, freedom, and human dignity for all people, no exceptions.

 

Let us stand together as Americans; united, principled, and determined to demand a foreign policy that reflects our values, protects our democracy, and stands on the side of humanity.
