Call for the Resignation or Impeachment of Kenyan President William Ruto

The Issue

As a deeply concerned citizen and active participant in the Gen Z movement, I bear witness to disturbing trends in our governance. Over the past two and a half months, Kenyans have been vocal about their yearning for good governance, accountability, and respect for the rule of law. Demonstrations, online campaigns, open forums and townhall meetings have been orchestrated in this spirit, despite the genuine concerns of our people being met with startling hostility, including killings and abductions.

Our push is now towards the impeachment of President William Ruto on grounds of corruption, gross violations of human rights, and a manifest disregard of the constitution and the rule of law. The president's alleged involvement in fostering impunity weighs heavy on the hearts of Kenyans who yearn for a democratic nation where institutions work according to their mandates.

The voice of the people is the voice of God. Our constitution's power is derived from the very people who are now subject to gross mistreatment. It is a distressing irony that requires urgent address. We now turn to the Kenyan Parliament to fulfill its role of oversight and take punitive action against this blatant disregard for the constitution.

It is time to fight impunity, uphold our constitution, and enforce the rule of law. Each one of us plays a role in shaping the Kenya we want for future generations. By adding your name to this petition and sharing widely, we can constructively express our concerns and stand in solidarity against impunity. Sign this petition to call on the Kenyan Parliament to impeach President William Ruto.
