Call for the Resignation of WV House of Delegates Member Elias Coop-Gonzalez

The Issue

As a deeply concerned constituent in the 67th District of West Virginia, I feel that our current delegate, Elias Coop-Gonzalez, is failing to accurately represent us, his constituents. He appears to prioritize a narrow agenda that caters to ideologies of extreme right-wing Christianity, rather than the larger issues that impact the daily lives and well-being of the majority of his constituents.

This is more than a matter of differing opinions - it's about fair representation. A report from Pew Research Center shows that only 35% of West Virginians identify as evangelical protestant, yet this religious group is disproportionately favored in the policies pursued by Mr. Coop-Gonzalez (Pew Research Center, 2014). This choice to cater to a specific minority over the general interest of his constituents is not only unrepresentative, but also unacceptable in a democratic society.

Therefore, it's time to call for accountability. It's time to insist that those who are elected to represent us do just that. We call on Elias Coop-Gonzalez to step down from his position as Delegate of the 67th District. We need a representative who will take into account the voices of all constituents, not just those who align with their personal beliefs. Join me in demanding a fair representation for all.
