After the recent events surrounding the virtual press conference of our current Vice President, Sara Duterte, she has demonstrated to the Filipino people that she is unworthy of holding her seat as the second-highest-ranking official in the country. She has been the at the center of numerous controversies involving corruption, assassination threats, failure to deliver her promises, and so much more. 

Notable Controversies includes:

• Threatening the President of The Philippines, his wife, and his house speaker. This caused the international community to judge the Philippines as politically unstable which threatens further investments.
• Allowing the withdrawal of 125M pesos in duffel bags which as far as we know, are still missing with no transparency from the Vice President.
• Failure to defend her proposed office budget. The lack of a clear and compelling defense for her proposed allocation has raised questions about her capacity to lead effectively.
• Lack of transparency regarding the use of "Confidential Funds" in the DepEd.
• Underperformance as the DepEd secretary, Completing only 192 out of 6,379 target classrooms which is a gross neglect of her duty during her term as the secretary, which further beckons the question: "Where did the confidential funds and budget allocated for the DepEd go?"
• As secretary of the Department of Education, she ordered the removal of all materials from classroom walls, including visual learning aids, as schools were set to open last August. Her directive drew widespread condemnation, even among teachers who were aghast at the indiscriminate and abrupt nature of the order.
• No definitive stance against the hostile actions of China in our West Philippine Sea. Instead, she publicly expressed her support for a convicted felon involved in sex trafficking and sexual abuse of minors which undermines her credibility as a leader.

As concerned citizens of our country, we must understand that public officials such as our Vice President hold a fundamental responsibility to act in the best interest of our nation. They must uphold transparency, and demonstrate accountability, and prioritize the welfare of the Filipino people. In light of the controversies and issues mentioned above, I respectfully urge you to sign this petition calling for Vice President Sara Duterte to step down from her position. 

We do not express this sentiment lightly, but rather as a reflection on the growing concerns regarding the controversies and allegations involving our Vice President. This call for resignation is not meant to diminish the contributions of the Vice President but rather to uphold the principle that public service is about putting the nation first. 

This is not the time for division but for decisive action.
