I am a proud alumna of Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame. This institution shaped me into an outspoken woman, giving me a platform to express myself freely and fearlessly. However, the current president, Katie Conboy, is threatening this nurturing environment by imposing her political identity onto the college and its students.

Under Conboy's leadership, there has been a gross neglect of student wishes and concerns. The voices of students, employees and alumnae are being silenced; their opinions dismissed with guilt-inducing tactics and harassment. This is not what Saint Mary’s stands for.

Saint Mary’s College has always been a place where diverse ideas flourish without fear or favor. It is imperative that we uphold this tradition by ensuring that our leaders respect the values upon which our institution was built.

We need to protect our college from becoming an echo chamber reflecting only one political ideology. We must ensure that it remains an open forum where all voices are heard equally - irrespective of their political leanings.

Therefore, we call upon all stakeholders – students past and present, faculty members and well-wishers – to join us in demanding Katie Conboy's impeachment as President of Saint Mary’s College for failing to uphold these principles.
