Call for San Jose City Support: Either Undertake the Project or Grant Us Permits to Do It

The Issue

**Dear Neighbors and Friends,**

Our community in Alviso recently came together to transform our local community center. With donated time, money, and effort, Alviso residents installed a new sprinkler system, planted fresh greenery, and revitalized our shared space. This was all done despite the city's repeated denials due to budget constraints. For too long, Alviso has felt neglected by the city, and this neglect spurred many community members to step up and make a difference. Our hard work was widely appreciated, even by the San Jose Police Department.

Today, without any explanation, the city has dismantled all our improvements. This has left us disheartened but not defeated. We, the Alviso community members, stand united in demanding that our efforts be recognized and restored.

We demand the support of the city of San Jose to either take on the beautification of Alviso themselves or respond to our multiple requests sent by various community members to grant us the necessary permits to do the work ourselves. Our community’s dedication should not be overlooked or undone.

We need your support to make our voices heard. Please sign our petition to show the city that our community's hard work matters. Together, we can ensure that what we built is preserved.
