Current Student Association President, Jalen Rose, has continuously failed the University at Albany student body and its student-run organizations and clubs.

After over two months of closure at UAlbany's Dippikill Retreat, Jalen Rose has remained silent, along with his Vice President, Amelia Crawford, and the other elected officials within the Student Association. Despite offers of help from Alumni, including the help of previous Student Association presidents, Rose has not responded at all, and is keeping our student body in the dark regarding the closure. In addition, the Student Association recently responded to backlash by completely deleting their Instagram, making them harder to reach with concerns or comments.

The new model constitution rollout for organizations was also a huge failure this semester. The deadline had to be extended because groups were not given enough time to draft a constitution, and were expected to follow rules and procedures that had not previously been enforced. In addition, clubs have been massively defunded and have lost money in their budgets, which has affected their operations. At a meeting held at the end of the semester, President Rose remained forceful in his pushback against student organizations and refused to take any blame in his handling of the situations that arose throughout the semester or the previous year.

Our student body and our student organizations are being impacted, and we cannot allow this to continue. We need new and fair leadership in our Student Association. Jalen Rose is not the President for us.
