The Issue

In these challenging times of financial crisis and an impending strike, our healthcare community in Brattleboro is in dire need of leadership that truly represents and supports the hardworking staff of Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH). Unfortunately, the current leadership in the Human Resources department, specifically Mr. Peter Blackmer, has demonstrated a continual pattern of mismanagement and inability to align with the needs of the hospital workers.

As a concerned community member, I have witnessed firsthand the distress and frustration of BMH employees who feel voiceless and unsupported. It is unacceptable that staff who dedicate themselves to saving lives live in fear of retaliation should they speak out against unfair treatment or policies that negatively impact their well-being and job performance.

The hospital staff are the backbone of our community's healthcare system. They deserve a supportive and responsive HR leadership that listens to and addresses their concerns, advocating for fair work conditions and policies that enable them to perform their duties without fear or hindrance.

Our community depends heavily on BMH for accessible healthcare, and it is critical that the hospital's environment be one where employees feel safe and valued. To safeguard the future of our vital healthcare services in Brattleboro, I urge the voluntary resignation or termination of Peter Blackmer from his current position as the Head of Human Resources at BMH.

By signing this petition, we send a clear message that our community demands accountability and change in leadership to foster an inclusive, supportive, and fair work environment for all BMH employees. Let us stand together to ensure that the healthcare workers who care for us are cared for by their leadership. **Sign this petition to demand the change that BMH urgently needs!**
