The Issue

I am writing this petition with a heavy heart, driven by the need to address a deeply concerning issue affecting our school community. As a learner and community member, I have witnessed first-hand the detrimental impact that Miss Mahlakwana and Miss Zwane's leadership has had on the physical and emotional well-being of our students. Their actions have not only disrupted the educational environment but have also caused significant harm to the students they are supposed to guide and protect.

Under their tenure, there have been numerous incidents that illustrate a pattern of behavior unbecoming of educators. Reports from both teachers and students detail instances of neglect, physical and verbal abuse, discrimination, homophobic comments , colourism and intimidation. It is disheartening to hear stories of students who feel unsafe and unsupported, while their cries for help seem to go unnoticed or unaddressed.

According to school records and testimonies from reliable sources, Miss Mahlakwana and Miss Zwane have consistently failed to provide the nurturing and respectful environment necessary for effective learning. Their approach often sidelines the needs of the students, prioritizing personal agendas over educational advancement.

The physical incidents reported include inadequate supervision leading to student injuries during school activities. Emotionally, there are numerous accounts of derogatory remarks directed at students, which have significantly impacted their mental well-being and self-esteem. These actions are in direct violation of the standards expected of teaching professionals and the school code of conduct, and they contradict the values our school stands for.

It's imperative that our school's leadership embodies the principles of fairness, respect, and dedication to student growth. To safeguard the future of the students, we must act now to ensure they learn in an environment that is both safe and supportive.

By signing this petition, you are supporting a call for the immediate removal of Miss Mahlakwana and Miss Zwane from their positions and ensuring that an investigation is conducted into their conduct. Our students deserve better, and we have the power to effect meaningful change for the benefit of their education and well-being. Please join me in demanding accountability and in advocating for a leadership team that truly cares about the future of our children. Sign this petition to make a necessary and positive change in our school community.
