Call for New Leadership at Holland Chatsworth Central School

Subject: Concerns Regarding School Administration at Holland Chatsworth Central School
Dear Ms. Wilder and Ms. Penner Lipsett,
We, the undersigned parents of students at Holland Chatsworth Central School (HCCS), are writing to formally express our serious concerns regarding the leadership of the current administrator, Ms. Tracy Dinsmore. It is our collective belief that her continued presence in this role has had a detrimental impact on the school environment, and most importantly, on the well-being and educational experiences of our children.
Many parents who have interacted with Ms. Dinsmore over behavioral, environmental, or academic matters have found the experience deeply frustrating. Concerns are frequently dismissed or inadequately addressed, and in some cases, the responsibility for problems is unfairly shifted back onto parents. This pattern of communication has led to an erosion of trust between the administration and the school community.
I would like to share my personal experience as one example of the broader issues at hand. My child was subjected to ongoing bullying during recess over a period of three months. Despite raising this issue, no meaningful action was taken. When I requested a meeting to address the matter, Ms. Dinsmore declined to attend and redirected me to the classroom teacher. I was only able to speak with her by chance that same day when I found her in her office.
During our conversation, Ms. Dinsmore suggested that my child might be on the autism spectrum—a diagnosis that has since been confirmed. What is particularly troubling is that, despite this suspicion, no supports were put in place, and no effort was made to prevent my child from being targeted or to help them navigate these challenges. Instead, behaviors linked to their condition were met with dismissive remarks, including her referring to their emotional distress as “he’s wailing again.” This lack of empathy and understanding is not only unacceptable but harmful to the child and the broader school climate.
We respectfully request access to the results of the School Climate Survey, along with any actions that have been taken in response to that data. Furthermore, we encourage other parents and staff members who share these concerns to come forward and add their voices to this letter.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. We hope to see meaningful steps taken to ensure a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students, staff, and families at HCCS.
Sincerely,
Concerned Parents of HCCS
