The Issue
Over the past several years, multiple news reports, customer complaints, and public discussions have raised questions about the welfare, sourcing, and health of puppies sold at Puppygram locations.
These concerns include:
• Reports of puppies becoming ill shortly after purchase
• Public claims of questionable breeder sourcing practices
• Community protests and public opposition in several cities
• Local ordinances and court rulings limiting or prohibiting Puppygram’s ability to sell puppies
These issues have led many residents to believe that retail puppy sales may pose risks to animal welfare and consumer protection. Our goal is not to target individual employees or engage in harassment, but to request accountability, transparency, and responsible regulation regarding the sale of live animals.
We are asking local leaders and relevant agencies to:
1. Conduct a full investigation into the sourcing and welfare practices associated with Puppygram.
2. Enforce or strengthen retail puppy sale ordinances designed to protect animals and consumers.
3. Consider measures to restrict or close retail puppy-sale operations that do not meet high ethical standards.
4. Promote adoption, responsible breeding, and transparent ethical practices in our community.
Retail puppy sales have already been restricted or banned in many cities across the United States due to similar concerns. We believe our community deserves the same protections.
