Call for Free Parking (0-3 Hours) at Bayside Shopping Centre!

Sign this petition to urge Vicinity’s Bayside Shopping Centre to implement 0-3 hours of free parking for all visitors!

I’ve spoken with countless Frankston residents over the past few weeks, and the message is clear: we’re fed up with the high costs of parking at Bayside Shopping Centre! It’s frustrating that while other nearby centres offer free parking, Bayside is the only one in our area charging fees.

Why should Frankston residents pay while others enjoy free parking?

Most nearby centres—such as Karingal Hub, Carrum Downs, Fountain Gate, Southland, Chadstone, and Doncaster—offer free parking options, often for the entire day or at least the first three hours. This allows shoppers to visit without worrying about costs.

To make matters worse, Bayside Shopping Centre controls around 90% of the parking spaces in the CBD—over 3,300 spots—yet continues to impose fees that deter residents from choosing to visit the Frankston CBD over other shopping districts.

Why Free Parking Matters: Providing free parking for the first three hours will help local shoppers with their cost of living and attract more visitors to our CBD. This will boost our economy and strengthen our community.
