Sandy residents - thank you!
We have surpassed 139 signatures, and your engagement is already making a difference.

At the last City Council meeting, Councilmember Aaron Dekeyzer formally requested that the Council place a discussion about campaign ethics and transparency on a future agenda.
This only happened because residents showed up and spoke out.

The next City Council meeting is on December 9.
To ensure this discussion makes the agenda, the Council must hear directly from the public, from you, before the agenda is finalized.

NEW CALL TO ACTION: Email your council member directly
Please email every council member individually and respectfully ask them to support placing this item on the December 9 agenda.

Subject: Please support adding a campaign ethics discussion to the Dec. 9 agenda

Dear Councilmember,

I am writing as a Sandy resident to respectfully ask that you support placing a public discussion about campaign ethics, transparency, and the conduct observed in the recent municipal election on the December 9th City Council agenda.

Many residents expressed concerns about: the accuracy of certain campaign mailers, messaging that did not align with how our city government actually works, outside PAC or developer-aligned funding, partisanship in non-partisan elections, and the use of tactics previously condemned during past elections.
This request is not about partisanship or personalities. It is about truthful campaigning, transparency, and preserving public trust in our municipal elections.
This request is about our future. As a Sandy resident, I don't want to live through another dirty political campaign in the future.

Councilmember Dekeyzer has already asked that this issue be scheduled for discussion. I strongly support that request and hope you will as well.

Thank you for your service to our city, and for helping ensure that Sandy’s elections remain fair, honest, and community-focused.

Sincerely,
Andrei Tarassov, DVM

Our next goal is 200 signatures and to make sure that this topic will get on the city council meeting agenda. Let’s ensure that every council member receives resident emails before the Dec. 9 meeting.

If each signer emails, this becomes impossible to ignore.
Andrei Tarassov, DVM
