Regarding threats to unleash the U.S. military on urban citizens. During an unprecedented military meeting held by Department of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on September 30, President Donald Trump declared that the U.S. military should literally sharpen its knives on domestic urban citizens by using them for military training practice. Further, Secretary Hegseth called on troops to ignore established rules of engagement, apparently encouraging wanton violence. The result could be a bloody mess in our cities, damaging or destroying our civil society.

Is this preparing for possible revolts in 2026 elections if Democratic Party victories are declared null and void by the Republicans? The current delay of election winner  Adelita Grijalva’s congressional swearing-in is just a taste of what may come in 2026, with these tactics now to be enforced by military violence demanded on by the administration.

Stop proposed military attacks on U.S. cities! U.S. folks, regardless of your party and where you live, you should call your elected representatives to condemn these threats in the strongest possible language. If this does not stop now, it may soon be too late. We are perhaps only one year away from real dictatorship when actual election results may no longer matter. The time to stop this is now!

Even if you are Republican, remember that dictators first oppress their enemies, and next they oppress their friends. This is bad news for everybody.

We call on elected officials, especially mayors, governors and those in Congress, to condemn, in the strongest language possible, encouragement by Trump and Hegseth of the use of military violence to suppress civil rights and against our civilian society.
