We, the signatories representing the residents of San Mateo County, hereby submit this petition to express our profound concerns and dissatisfaction with the leadership of County Executive Officer Mike Callagy. This letter of No Confidence is intended to draw immediate attention to the pressing issues that have emerged during Mr. Callagy's tenure.

Upon thorough consideration and the organization of various neighborhood meetings, it has become evident that the actions and decisions of Mr. Callagy have had adverse effects on the residents of San Mateo County, particularly those in the city of Millbrae. We firmly believe that he is unfit to lead and lacks the essential qualities required for the effective performance of his duties as County Executive Officer.

The primary reasons for our lack of confidence in Mr. Callagy include:

1. Unethical Pursuit of La Quinta Inn & Suites for Permanent Supportive Housing:

   Mr. Callagy's pursuit of the La Quinta Inn & Suites for permanent supportive housing has raised ethical concerns within our community. Many residents were witness to his demeaning words, poor leadership, lack of integrity, and negative treatment of Millbrae residents during this process.

2. Violation of Values:

   Mr. Callagy's actions do not align with the values crucial to a trustworthy County government. His conduct demonstrates a lack of honesty, integrity, respect, leadership, accountability, transparency, and professionalism, eroding our confidence in the County's commitment to these principles.

3. Loss of Public Trust:

   Mr. Callagy has lost the trust of the Millbrae public through false statements, harassment, hostility, and intimidation towards members of the community. Such behavior is unacceptable for a public servant entrusted with the well-being of the residents.

4. Promotion of Disparate Treatment and Cronyism:

   Concerns have been raised about Mr. Callagy's promotion of disparate treatment and cronyism, which undermines the fair and impartial execution of his duties.

5. Economic Turmoil, Job Loss, and Business Closures:

   Mr. Callagy's decisions have contributed to economic turmoil, resulting in job losses and closures of businesses within Millbrae, negatively impacting the livelihoods of our residents.

In light of these serious concerns, we, the undersigned, hereby express our loss of confidence in Mr. Mike Callagy's ability to effectively serve as County Executive Officer. We respectfully request his immediate removal to ensure the highest level of service within our County government.

We urge the Board of Supervisors to consider our petition seriously and take appropriate action to address the challenges we face under Mr. Callagy's leadership.
