We have been actively and constructively progressing the request for an EGM and are hopeful that all requests placed upon us have been met or exceeded and that a date will be announced very soon.
To this end, we have recently been informed that the the Club are seeking legal counsel before responding further. At this stage, it is not entirely clear what specific point of law they are considering—whether it relates to their obligation to accommodate the request for an EGM (given that the required number of members has been reached), or to the process for convening such a meeting.
In any event, we will of course keep you updated as soon as we receive any further information.
In the meantime, we would also like to clarify a point raised in the Club's Committee communications, particularly the email sent to members on 9th May 2026. That message stated that the Investigation Report had been “reviewed and approved by the BTF Head of Safeguarding and Integrity Officer.”
However, the BTF Governance Lead has today confirmed the following in writing:
“I am clear that we did not endorse the report, nor were we party to the decision-making. The responsibility for managing and determining that grievance process lay with [the Club].”
As soon as the Club announces the date for the EGM, we will provide a further update
