Across the country, the need for social distancing has impacted many industries. One industry in particular stands at high risk for both economic catastrophe AND moral injustice and that is the community of animal shelters. Dog and cat adoption events have been canceled and fewer people are visiting shelters, leaving more adorable animals in the cold. 

Especially the animals who will be left behind due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

This petition is aimed at Governor Gavin Newsom to IMMEDIATELY impose a temporary moratorium on shelter euthanizations
