Call for a Special Meeting to address charges filed against the President
The Issue
Brothers, Sisters & Kin,
I'm writing to you today with an urgent request. I have recently faced suspension due to charges that have been filed against me by Vice President Mark Dann during our last General Membership meeting on September 13, 2026. These charges have been found cognizant by the majority of the Executive, and I firmly believe that it is essential for the membership to have a say in whether these charges can be deemed cognizant due to the bias and conflict of interest that exists with the Board.
Being elected president of our union is a position I have held with great pride and responsibility. I have always believed in transparency, accountability, and fairness. However, recent events have shown me that these same values are not held by everyone.
The integrity of our union depends on the active involvement of its members. A special membership meeting will provide a platform for open discussion, full disclosure of the charges and allow members to cast their votes to determine the cognizance of those same charges themselves. Without such a meeting, decisions may be made without the adequate representation and voice of the membership.
In accordance with Article V, section 3 of our Union's Constitution & Bylaws, a special meeting can be called on a petition of no less than 20% of our Membership.
Currently, we have 762 Members in our local, that means we need at least 152 names on this list to call for a special meeting.
This meeting is one such instance where member participation isn't just desired—it's crucial. Be sure to reach out to the Executive Board and request a copy of the IATSE International Trial Book to educate yourself on cognizance, and show up in person to the meeting to come to your own conclusions. With your support, we can bring this matter to the table and ensure full transparency, accountability and fairness.
I urge every member join me in signing this petition requesting a Special Meeting for Saturday October 24, 2026.
In Solidarity,
Terence Fuller
