Join us as we gather outside of City Hall before the September 5th, 2023 Council Meeting where they will be releasing information about the cost per kwh of utilities and Administration will be presenting relief and rate options.
We will gather outside of City Hall and then peacefully enter the building to attend the meeting which starts at 6:30 pm.
Please note this is a family friendly protest, and we will not tolerate any aggressive or unkind behavior. That does nothing to help our case.
There are criminal codes we need to be aware of: no assaults (no physical contact), causing a disturbance (fighting, screaming, by fighting, screaming, shouting, swearing, singing or using insulting or obscene language, (ii) by being drunk, or (iii) by impeding or molesting other persons, - traffic safety act of Alberta (no stunting, startling or interference with users of a road/alleyway, it's an offence to stop or loiter or impede the lawful flow of traffic. City bylaws mirror these offense (2494 sect 38) - don't obstruct roadways, no fighting. Keep your feet on the ground.
If there are large amounts of people in attendance (and we hope there are), we can also gather in the park across the street.
Help us send the message that we demand nothing less than solutions, for this issue, and all others going forward.
