My name is Hilaire Fuji Shioura. I am a registered 2018 gubernatorial candidate with our California Secretary of State. Last year I was on the ballot for our California's 50th Congressional District, where I ran against the Republican incumbent Duncan Hunter for our Primary Election on June 7th, 2016. Politico, San Diego Tribune, and other news outlets have stated Congressman Duncan Hunter (R) was the first member of the US Congress to officially and publically endorse Donald J. Trump for President in 2016. I ran for out 50th Congressional District to address serious concerns I had and still have for our communities, economy, environment, immigration and more!
Having directly uncovered, experienced, and addressed willful, deliberate and targeted electioneering by our California Secretary of State, I hope and pray you will do your best not to intentionally act to confuse, hinder, complicate and undermine our voting process for California voters like you and me.
I would appreciate as a voter and candidate, for the sake of openness, transparency and genuine accountability to our election process for the benefit of all California voters, to participate as a candidate in the Gubernatorial Town Hall Forum, hosted by the Empowerment Congress, on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Bovard Auditorium, in our University of Southern California in Los Angeles, with my fellow registered gubernatorial candidates to ensure a vigorous, inclusive, informative and civil townhall meeting to ensure a thorough discussion, debate and forum to offer solutions to the most pressing issues and concerns our California voters have; such as immigration, job creation, living costs, universla healthcare, taxes, budgets, smarty city, transportation, cybersecurity, homelessness, crime, school reform, pension reform, reform, electioneering, LA Olympics 2028, out of control fires, and so much more.
I am committed to protecting, supporting and expanding our Free Flow of Information Act and simplifying our Freedom of Information Act to collectively modify the two Acts to empower California voters and our elections process. As the only self-funded candidate I have many more innovative solutions for our state of California. As the only gubernatorial candidate in California, and in our country for that matter, that runs, updates and maintains my own servers, I have direct real-world technology experience that compels me to address our pressing issues in the sphere of technology such as, but not limited to Net Neutrality, cybersecurity, bitcoin. Matter-of-fact, I even created several Internet initiatives at www.department.technology www.government.domains www.library.email and more to directly address our states' precarious technology dominance, needs, and prosperity.
Furthermore, as a veteran inner-city educator (elementary, middle school and high school), who tragically lost students to inner-city violence, I am very passionate about making our schools safer, proposing legislation for smaller class size, modernize our curriculum to adequately prepare our youth in a globally competitive marketplace reliant on technology.
On December 14th, 2017, our Chairman of the United States Federal Communications Commission Ajit Varadaraj Pai, unilaterally repealed our cherished Net Neutrality. I genuinely fear ISPs (Internet Service Providers) will try to throttle, control, manipulate and censor the Internet, and thereby seriously endanger our free speech, privacy, and stifle innovation and investment in technology. As I stated before, I am the only California gubernatorial candidate that runs, maintains and update my own servers.
In summary, please do not throttle, control, manipulate and censor our democracy by the deliberate inaction of not inviting registered gubernatorial candidates like myself and others to the debate. Our voters have a right to know who are the registered gubernatorial candidates are at the town hall meeting on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Bovard Auditorium University of Southern California, and therefore be better informed of our election choices as voters. California voters have a right to be as well informed as possible of all the registered gubernatorial candidates so as to make the most well-informed decision who to vote for and why.
When can all agree that our California Gubernatorial 2018 election will have local, state, national and international impact. As the only self-funded Independent candidate for California Governor in 2018, I have met many voters that sincerely want to hear from an Independent self-funded candidate and not just from the candidates originating from the everyday permanent political establishment hegemony of Democrats and Republicans that have for so long have benefited monetarily from.
Furthermore, I have been officially invited to UCLA and our Alameda School Board in the San Francisco Bay area to participate as a gubernatorial candidate at two other official California Gubernatorial Forums.
