California is preparing to make a grave mistake by allowing offshore windfarms to be built. The promise of green energy is the driving force behind this decision. The truth is, this is not green at all!

The ocean is the last place we need to place windfarms. There are many more disadvantages than advantages to placing these floating wind turbines on the ocean. The environmental impact will be devastating to fish, birds, whales, other sea creatures, sport and commercial fisherman and families, and to the beautiful ocean itself. 

Wind turbines are not as green as promised. These giants are known for breaking down and leaking large amounts of oil. This leaking of oil will end up straight into our ocean!

The electro magnetic fields created by wind turbines is a huge concern to wildlife in the ocean and in the air. These electro magnetic fields can be devastating to whale migration and navigation along with many other sea creatures.

In the Unites States alone, these "green" giants are estimated to kill over half a million birds per year! Imagine the impact they will have on seagulls, pelicans, albatross, cormorants, and all other sea dwelling birds.

Our cost of electricity will skyrocket! The ocean is powerful and basically destroys everything from rocks to man made materials. This means the wind turbines will need much more maintenance than the turbines on land but, the much needed maintenance will happen far less than the turbines on land because of how dangerous it will be to climb and maintain these floating monsters in an unstable environment. Not to mention the carbon footprint of trying to get technicians to and from the turbines and the construction of these windfarms will be enormous compared to landbased windfarms. All of this costly construction and maintenance will be paid by you, the consumer.

Where do you think they will end up when they fall off? Straight to the bottom of the ocean is where these turbine blades will end up. These companies will not pay millions of dollars to recover these blades from the depths of the sea. And if they do, it's coming out of YOUR pocket every time. Our beautiful ocean will end up being a trash heap, full of broken down "green" wind turbines. 

400 square miles with 400 wind turbines in our ocean! Would you like to see 400 wind turbines when you look out onto our beautiful ocean? And that's just the beginning! They will add more later!

The ocean is a pristine environment that should NOT be industrialized.
