We are extremely disappointed that oil lobbyists recently killed The California Coastal Protection Act of 2015 by Senators Hannah-Beth Jackson and Mike McGuire. This bill would ban future offshore oil drilling on California's Central Coast. The recent Refugio Beach Oil Spill is just the latest reminder that we must stop offshore oil drilling that threatens our natural environment as well as our local tourism industry that depends on it. Please join us in urging the California Legislature to pass the California Coastal Protection Act of 2015 (SB 788) to prohibit additional oil drilling off the Central Coast.
