There is currently a Bill in California, (SB 519) that will be voted on in the CA Assembly in the following weeks which would make psychedelic drugs lawful.  These schedule 1 drugs include Ecstasy (MDMA), LSD, Mescaline and psilocybin.  The bill, (if passed) could lead to distributing, selling, consuming and manufacturing or growing these drugs. The Drug Enforcement Agency states that “schedule 1 drugs have no medical use and possess a high potential for abuse.” The proponents of the bill have disregarded law enforcement organizations and their concerns.  The bill has no regulatory systems listed.  There are no reports on costs to tax payers as to the result of accidents, injuries or deaths caused by use or abuse of these drugs.  There are no reports as to the listing of the effects caused by interaction with other drugs or chemicals.  There are no reports or studies as to the effects on hospital or emergency medical professionals who may already be over-whelmed with others in need of medical care.
