Flagship District Landmark Education Challenge We are searching for the leaders, teachers and student-body, to participate in a historic education challenge. We believe that young citizens should have a Bill of Rights that speaks to them. Rights that empower them from destructive relationships and harmful situations. We want to inspire teachers to work together with students to create, adopt, and amend a bill of rights. The educational exercise could include voting by students to pass an acceptable bill of rights. We hope the final outcome will include written requests to our state assembly members asking that a bill of rights be passed into law. We have networked across California and the State Assembly and Senate are anticipating these letters from your students. Community is most important to us all. We believe that teachers touch us all in the most remarkable way. When decided to find ways to build safer communities, we knew we had to question every single convention and rule, no matter how established or trivial. We realized that we could not do it without teachers. Teachers are one thing universally necessary to advancing civilization. Teachers have touched our lives in extraordinary ways. They are family to us and that will never change. Teachers are the fabric of our nation. Teachers are heroes. Teachers rock. When we filed a bill of rights with California's Secretary of State (#3494499), we did it with the idea that it promoted the joy of living in freedom. We drafted a bill of rights for children around everything we wanted for our own children. We did it in support of the teachers in America that we entrust our 50,000,000 kids to every single day. Empowering young people is what teachers naturally do everyday. Empowering young people is what Facebook.com/uskidsroc is all about. Teacher's are hereby given the right to use, publish any of our materials or literature for use in their classrooms. Join us in a community for a digital age.
Sincerely, Lynne DeVoe, Director of Community Resources Lynne@uskidsroc.org
