Off-highway vehicle damage is outpacing California’s ability to repair it. Thousands of illegal OHV trails mar the state's terrain, and state-funded OHV parks are failing to consistently follow wildlife habitat protection plans or undertake meaningful natural resource monitoring. 

Now, we have a chance to implement common sense measures to curtail illegal activity and better protect our natural resources without attacking responsible riders who want to do the right thing. In February, Senator Ben Allen (D-Santa Monica) introduced SB 249, a bill that seeks to improve conservation standards and increase accountability and transparency on the part of the state park's Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division. 

We urge you to support SB 249.
