International Students are experiencing unprecedented circumstances right now. Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, international students have been forced to return to their home countries in order to keep the campus community safe during these extremely challenging times.

Now that the school year is set to return in a hybrid format, many international students will want to return to continue their studies at Cal Lutheran this semester. However, with CDC guidelines enforcing 14 day self-quarantine on all travelers entering the US, international students are also subject to this. This leaves them with the question of how are they meant to pay for 14 nights in a hotel, 14 nights of meals on top of the other costs related to travel, moving, etc. Since the university cannot house quarantined students on-campus, our only option is local hotels/rentals, etc.

We feel that the university should contribute towards these costs as international students deserve to have some sort of financial support considering the hoops they are jumping through to try and return to Cal Lutheran. Hotels in Thousand Oaks aren’t cheap, and international students need help!
