Fire survivors are now under fire again! State Farm and Nationwide insurance have chosen to have their rental companies send notices of “intent to vacate” to the landlords and property management companies who are providing temporary housing for fire survivors as they rebuild. This is being done without the consent or knowledge of the tenants. Another in the continuing list of cold-hearted decisions being made by the two companies who insure the majority of the survivors of the Sonoma Complex Fires. These unethical choices will have a devastating effect on our communities and force many survivors from the area. Time is of the essence and we cannot remain silent. Here’s what you can do!

  1. Join us at the Fire Survivors’ Rally for Insurance Justice on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5-7pm in Old Courthouse Square in downtown Santa Rosa. https://www.facebook.com/events/413578789293871/
  2. Call, write or visit Ricardo Lara, our newly elected Insurance Commissioner, and demand that he take action to protect fire survivors from the unethical choices being made by the insurance companies he is charged with regulating.                                              1-800-927-4357.                                               California Department of Insurance                            300 Capitol Mall, Suite1700.                         Sacramento, CA 95814
  3. Contact your local representative and express your concerns and demand action. whoismyrepresentative.com
