Stop fatal collisions on Vasco Road

Stop fatal collisions on Vasco Road
The Issue
Today Vasco Road claimed another life. Vasco Road has become a major traffic short cut for many and commuter traffic starts as early as 3 A.M. the Contra Costa Area Highway Patrol must come and do enforcement on Vasco Road south of Camino Diablo regularly to help save lives... People need to respect the 55 MPH speed limit and stop tailgating people, flashing headlights, throwing objects, illegally passing those who do follow the law and drive safe!! If you are in a hurry Vasco Road will get you no where there is always someone on the road and speeding does not save you much time of your trip anyways.
I believe with the public’s help we can reduce accidents and save lives by petitioning the California Highway Patrol Contra Costa to commit to regular enforcement on Vasco Rd.
I also believe that Contra Costa Public Works needs to look into building a concrete wall in between opposing traffic to reduce head on collisions.
my third goal is to help Contra Costa Highway Patrol get more officers to cover the huge area that they are responsible for and to help with regular enforcement activities including help from other agencies in the area. One officer covers the entire East Contra Costa county including the entire unincorporated areas and cities and Highway 4. Together we can all help save some lives and prevent further sorrow and fatal collisions on Vasco Rd.
