We the church of California are fighting for our right and our freedom to assemble. We as Americans have a constitution that legally protects the church from local and state officials trying to close our doors.

The first amendment of our constitution reads as follows “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

We the church have respectfully closed our doors for 40 days and the governor Gavin Newsom has released a 4 phase plan for California and the church is on the 3rd phase where he says “The next phase, Stage 3, is "months, not weeks, away," Newsom said. 

Phase one is where California is currently in and in this phase we find that only “essential” business are open while all other business is closed. In this phase we find the following places open but not limited to Liquor stores (alcohol kills more people every year. Around one-third of traffic-related deaths in the United States involve a drunk driver driver, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) But yet we find liquor stores considered essential when liquor kills lives and churches save lives

Phase 2 involves lifting restrictions on some lower risk workplaces, such as retail, manufacturing and offices where telework is not possible. Reopening child care centers will be a part of that second stage as well, Newsom said

Phase 3 is "months, not weeks, away," Newsom said. That stage will encompass personal care businesses like gyms, spas and salons, sports without live audiences, in-person religious services and other businesses where workers come in close contact with customers

WE THE CHURCH ARE REQUESTING THE GOVERNOR TO IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE BAN ON CHURCHES AND ALLOW US TO OPERATE WITH THE SAME GUIDELINES THAT WALMARTS, COSTCOS, SUPERMARKETS HAVE IN PLACE.

Matthew 5:13-15 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”

The church is meant to shine and not be placed under a bowl
