Quick Results for NCLEX-RN exams in California

Quick Results for NCLEX-RN exams in California
The Issue
Every year, thousands of hopeful new graduate nursing students sit for the NCLEX-RN examination, administered by Pearson Professional Services. Unfortunately, California is one of three states that does not participate in Quick Results, allowing new graduate nurse to view their score 48 hours after sitting for the exam (Pass/Fail).
With the California Board of Registered Nursing Sacramento office only employing 6 people to input scores and process transcripts, graduates are forced to wait up to 8 weeks for an answer as to whether or not they passed. They are missing out on opportunities to apply for jobs, because almost all employers require a license number, or at minimum, an answer as to whether or not they passed the exam.
Nursing students work hard for many years to be able to sit for this exam. If they fail, they must wait an additional 45 days to retest. This time is wasted waiting to hear back from the BRN as to whether of not they passed in the first place. The missed job opportunities, and the stress of waiting up to 8 weeks for an answer is unacceptable and must be remedied.
Please help new graduate nurses receive their results faster, so that they can begin working and doing what they do best--helping others.
