Our hearts are sick with the endless killing that goes on in our animal shelters.  

Laying the blame on the shelters who are trying to deal with the non-stop influx of animals, while understandable, is reactive and not the right approach.  Rather, let's take a proactive step and require that people get their animals spayed or neutered.

Take a page out of the play book of those counties and cities that have taken this approach and make it a state-wide mandate.  Put some money behind it to make it free.  We'd save money in the long run.

Let's create a future where our shelters are not the last stop for so many worthy animals.

Perhaps there are people who don't want to sign this petition but still want to help.  Find out who your representatives are and let them know that you support a state-wide spay-neuter requirement.
