I made this petition to make sure that carbon emissions are lowered in the state of California. This issue affects not only California, but the entire planet, and we need change now! Please sign and share with others!

Climate Change poses a grave threat to life on earth. In the state of California, we’ve experienced increased temperatures, drought, wildfires, and rising sea levels, all attributed to the climate crisis.

However, we are primary contributors to the problem, as in 2017, California alone was responsible for 358.6 Million Metric tons of co2 emit into the atmosphere. But where is this co2 coming from? A study from “Carbon Majors Report” shows that 71% of all carbon emissions on Earth come from just 100 companies and corporations. We must stop these corporations from polluting our planet!

It’s imperative that Gavin Newsom and State legislature impose a carbon tax on these corporations, which will incentivize them converting to clean, and renewable energies, thus lowering greenhouse gas emissions, and moving us one step closer to securing our future on this planet.
