On July 6th, 2020 the Orange County Department of Education sent a legal demand to all schools advising them to put a halt to all High School Summer Sport Training. Their legal counsel said, “recreational team sports were not permitted under the guidance for day camps” in a letter to Superintendents. 

The letter added, "(The California Department of Public Health) has confirmed that at this time youth sports, including conditioning activities, are not permitted, Once statewide guidance is released, we will collectively work with the local public health officer to consider local community conditions when implementing the statewide guidance.”

We as parents need to push back on these decisions. Our student athletes need this training not only for their physical fitness, but their mental well-being as well. 

Let's send a message to these bureaucrats that those of us willing to do the right thing for our kids are fed up. We are ultimately the ones who make the tough decisions for our own children. We choose to let them get on with their lives. We choose to let them play, swim, pass, shoot, pitch, hit, tackle, and run.
