Prentice Hall's Medieval and Early Modern Times social studies book violates our First Amendment rights as stated in the Consitution.  

The Center for Public Education states: The Constitution uses 16 words—known as the “religion clauses”—to create rules about how faith and government interact. One clause gives citizens the right to freely exercise religious convictions; the other prohibits government (including taxpayer-funded public schools) from establishing religion, meaning granting favorable treatment.  

Favorable religious treatment is being provided by only promoting the Qur'an in the book while no other Holy Books are quoted or promoted.  In addition, there is a bias on the treatment of Islam throughout the text book.

This petition is directly addressing the favoring of Islam throughout the text book, quoting scripture from the Qur'an and providing detailed faith based practices of the Islamic religion.  Christiainty and Judaism are not equally promoted or accurately portrayed in relation to the treatment of the Islamic religion in the book.  Thus this directly violates the prohibition of government establishing a religion, meaning they have granted favor to Islam throughout the book.  

Please support removing this book from our schools in California and in America.
