Because of the current pandemic, healthcare providers are the first respondents. LVNs are asked to respond to active duty never done before. LVNs are being trained to work side by side with RNs in the hospital due to an overload of patients because of Covid-19. They will be trained to perform tasks similar to what the RNs are doing. Most hospitals are beginning to start this process. Because of the training and tasks that will be performed, LVNs should be allowed to challenge the boards to become RNs. 

The LVNs can take courses for piggy back and picc lines. That's the only difference between LVN and RN being able to do PICC, IVP, and Blood transfusions. If Nurses go to classes for these items they can be full fledged RN.I believe we can have better trained RNs if LVNs are allowed to challenge the RN boards since many already work in hospitals and have a vast scope of practice. I believe this pandemic has shown us that we are deficient when it comes to trained personnel. I believe this petition can change it.
