Dear Friends & Family —

About 10 years ago, you signed a petition to keep Richard Johnson in prison, the man who murdered my sister Cathy LaCorte and others.

One month from today, my family and I will face him at a Parole Hearing for the ninth time.

I'm asking you to sign our new petition to oppose his release.

We're worried this year, partly because he's older, but mainly because the political atmosphere of California's "justice system" is worse than it has been since the 1970s.

The state now routinely releases convicted murderers, and we just learned that for the first time ever, L.A. County District Attorney George Gascon is refusing to allow a DA to represent the prosecution at this (or any) parole hearing. 

While convicted murderers have free legal counsel, there's literally no one on the prosecution side with access to the criminal case details and prison records. It's the Parole Commissioners, the killer, his attorney ... and us.

Fortunately, Johnson hasn't expressed much remorse or honesty at his last hearings, but we NEED to let them know people are watching and strongly oppose letting him back out on the streets.
