Thank you to those who have signed the petition so far — your support means a lot. I’ve just made a small but important tweak to clarify the petition’s intent.

Originally, the wording said the goal was to restore tenant choice by allowing properties (including units) to maintain their previous smoking or non-smoking status. I’ve now updated that to say “not including buildings.”

To be clear:

We are not against individual units or buildings being smoke-free.

What we are against is removing the ability for tenants to legally smoke outside — on balconies, patios, backyards, or even while walking across the parking lot. These were previously allowed and designated areas.

This policy strips away even that limited outdoor choice — with no alternative being offered. And that’s what we’re challenging.
