From: The People Who Just Wanted Dessert
Regarding: The National Cake Prohibition Act
This update is issued to formally inform all signatories that, despite widespread public support, peaceful demonstrations, and the submission of over 14 verified signatures, none of the requests outlined in the original petition have been granted.
Government representatives have acknowledged receipt of the petition and have assured the public that it is being “reviewed carefully.” No timeline has been provided. When pressed for clarification, officials stated that cake-related matters are “complex” and require further study, particularly in relation to frosting stability and the long-term impact of sprinkles on civic responsibility 🧁📉.
Enforcement of the National Cake Prohibition Act remains in full effect. Reports continue to surface of community bake sales being denied permits, birthday parties being reclassified as “unauthorized gatherings,” and wedding receptions proceeding without dessert. In several cases, citizens have been issued formal warnings for possessing candles “without a licensed cake base” 🎂🚫.
Morale continues to decline. Public parks once reserved for celebrations now sit empty on weekends. Children have adapted by singing “Happy Birthday” without the final verse. The phrase “save room for cake" has quietly disappeared from the national vocabulary 😔.
The Department of Nutritional Security has released a brief statement suggesting that alternatives such as “celebration bread,” gelatin cubes, and fruit arrangements should be considered adequate substitutes. Petitioners strongly dispute this claim and note that none of these items can support frosting, candles, or emotional closure 🍓🕯️.
Despite repeated requests, no apology has been issued to bakers. No exemptions have been granted. No task force has been formed. The proposed National Cake Restoration Day remains unacknowledged.
Still, the petition remains active.
We wish to remind officials that compliance should not be mistaken for acceptance. The absence of cake has not diminished the resolve of the people—only their patience. Signatures continue to be collected. Stories continue to be documented. Forks remain ready 🍴.
Until meaningful action is taken, we will continue to submit updates, organize law-abiding demonstrations, and advocate for the return of cake to its rightful place in society.
