To remove the petition to take away Caitlyn Jenners Medal
The Issue
Taking away an Olympic medal is taking away the accomplishments of one of the hardest training American Icons. With the new coming out and transitioning of Caitlyn Jenners, we feel that it should not effect the previous winning of the 1976 summer Men's Decathlon. Now that Caitlyn identifies as Female this should not negate the life accomplishments she has previously earned. This instead is a direct attack on someone who has just recently come out. Don't take away an American Olympic Athletes Medal. She wasn't on sports enhancing drugs and did not cheat during the Olympics. A transition should only affect an athlete if they are competing during transition. Jenners transition is 39 years after her medal, the petition should be to change her name on the medal and to open up more transgender friendly Olympic standards.
