Please stop selling real cheese and real milk.  Please stop profiting from and supporting animal exploitation.

A mother cow’s breast milk is to nurture and feed her calve – not for cream in your coffee or a topping on a sandwich.   Each year countless female cows are forcibly impregnated against their will in order to keep them pregnant and producing milk.  Each year their children are painfully stolen from them and shortly thereafter killed and sold as meat (veal).  Excessive milking of cows often causes diseases like mastitis (inflammation of the utter) and osteoporosis as the calcium is leeched from their bones during milking.  This repeated stress from milking and forced pregnancy regrettably and significantly shortens the life of these animals. This is a tragedy.

Even on local and organic farms these issues of animal cruelty still persist in addition to animal confinement.  In addition, the fact that your restaurant sells animal products supports the concept that it is ok to exploit animals for human needs and greed in general as well as supporting the broader dairy industry by endorsing and promoting dairy products.

As a veg establishment we would love it if you would act as an ambassador for these cows and make the switch to a fully vegan and cruelty free menu. There are more and more restaurants similar to yours who are making the switch successfully and ditching the dairy for plant based milks.

Please help Kitchener get off its cheese and milk addiction.
