Markham as a community, feel we need more for our children. After research through Salvaged Creations Wales, I-MAKE, C.I.C. via Facebook and asking the community what they think, the biggest request is a 'Skate Park' and an updated park/playground. The community will benefit with an extra facility for our children, providing an outlet for play, skill development, health and exercise, whilst also boosting children's well-being and mental health. 

We currently have a run down park and a community centre of which is rarely open and generally disused. By providing the community of children and youths with a physical outlet, it will provide them with a safe area for them to ride their bikes, skateboards and scooters, of which will in turn become a central point of meeting, of which is acceptable within the community. (Rather than 'hanging around' the streets and outside others' houses.)

Markham is classed a poverty stricken area, given that it is under the flying start scheme. We need more for our children! And this is what the area needs!
