The exit from the Brookshire's parking lot onto North Market presents a serious and threatening exit for traffic in all directions when used.  Many accidents, including serious to life threatening injuries, have occurred when drivers exit and turn southbound which requires crossing 3 lanes of cross traffic.  One of the lanes is used as a merge lane for the exit ramp for I220.  Cars are moving at a fast speed when exiting I220, and this exit lane is the first lane that a vehicle must cross to turn southbound.  Additionally, a traffic light is within approximately 300 feet of this parking lot exit.  Ravendale Drive provides a safe exit for all vehicles entering and exiting the parking lot.  Using Ravendale Drive will put traffic at a controlled intersection with a traffic light.

This purpose of this petition is to get the exit altered or closed to prevent turning southbound directly from the parking lot, or to prevent exits altogether. Preventing left turns would significantly reduce collisions at this location.
