Dear Supporters, it's July 25.  I recently returned from a trip in which I gathered signatures for this petition from people who lived primarily in the San Francisco bay area.  All of these people had pets.  Either a dog or cat or both.  If you know California, the bay area is a mass of highways, freeways, and roads.  I'm not sure how many pets are lost to these vehicle pathways and I didn't ask anyone if they knew.  My assumption is, many.  When I passed out the petition, the words most often spoken were, "CalTrans doesn't do that"? "That's just a given, they should be doing that".  I would bet that a lot of Californians believe CalTrans already scans for microchips in dogs and cats they are called to pickup.  This petition can help make that change happen.  Please continue to share this petition with others and thank you for giving your support.
