SAVE THE MENLO PARK GUILD THEATER!

SAVE THE MENLO PARK GUILD THEATER!
The Issue
Our beloved Menlo Park, CA neighborhood movie theater, the Guild, is currently on a month-to-month lease as a Landmark Theatre venue, and we fear it will close and be replaced by yet another office building. It is our only remaining first-run international and independent movie house in Menlo Park (near Stanford), which used to have 3 theaters. The Guild was built in the 1920s and has been offering movies since then, and has a charming, unique, funky interior décor. We need to support this intimate (300 seats), local theater for what it contributes to the cultural life of our community. When it is remodeled, we want to maintain its unique interior details. We're near Facebook's headquarters, and within walking distance of restaurants, Kepler's bookstore (also a community treasure) and a thriving, growing community that needs to keep this reminder of our small town charm. We have more than enough multi-plex, cookie cutter venues. Save the Guild Theater! Please leave a comment in support of the Guild.
